Best in Home Economics

First off, I would like to congratulate my eldest daughter for receiving an award as the Multi Best Swimmer for the whole school, girl section. Now she is eager and so patience with her training because of that award. I guess it motivated her enough.

On that note, when I was just in Jm's age, I oftentimes received an award too. I was part in the honor roll but it goes down when my father died. I suddenly lose my patience to study simply because I lose my inspiration. I was not given an award from Grade IV to Grade V but since I was so eager to send snacks to the students in all levels from our canteen, on Grade VI they recognize me as the Best in Home Economics. LOL

I didn't inform my sister about it and during the recognition day I just asked my classmate to go to the stage with me and pin my ribbon. I heard some whispers from the background asking me of my parents, I didn't say a word.

When I went home, our neighbor who seen me on the stage told my sister that I got an award from school. My sister asked me about it and told me why I didn't told them, she could have treat me for lunch or dinner afterwards, whatever it is, it was still an award and I deserved a treat.

For my Health Maintenance

My Pulmonologist required me to maintain my medicines for my asthma so it will not attack me again. It was the same medicine he gave me the previous years and that is the Seretide together with that, he also asked me to buy a nasal spray and used it for one month then I would go back to his clinic to know if I would have to maintain it or not.

I don't like both of air puff and the nasal spray but I could not do anything with it but to follow his advised otherwise I will be getting severe attacks and the worst is if the lungs will not respond and it would be too late for me then. On the other hand, this is only a little sacrifice, air puff and nasal spray in the morning and air puff again in the evening that is not hard right?

To know the size of my finger

When my husband showed me our engagement ring years back. I was certain it is big and it will not fit my finger then especially when I was too slim at that time. My husband keeps on asking me what my finger size but I just can't answer him because I really don't know, how I wished I had a ring mandrel at that time so I can just size my finger right away but oh well, I had to go to a jewelry shop, pretended to buy a ring from them but they have to know my size first. So they measure my finger and informed me then, I told them I will get back to purchase the one I like. When I got home I told my husband the size of my finger right then. And I did not go back to that jewelry store since that day.

I can't open my files!

Grrr, my Microsoft Word where I saved my answers for Lainy's Musing Blogversary is acting up. It says the specified I/O operation on Device Hardisk is not completed; I could not open any of my files! Geez, and the time is running so fast. I need to go out to pay my contributions for my insurances. I hope I will not be very sleepy tonight so I can finish my answers. There's only one pen name I have to look and then I'm done.

Small Business

My friend called me this afternoon to offer me a small business, I grabbed it and we saw each other in the mall today to talk about it. It was only a small business and it is indeed would work out. I can't tell you for now what is that but I am praying it will progress.

My store was already given away to my older sister so they have an extra income aside of what she is doing right now here. They needed it since they already have a high school student and it would be a great help for them if I turn it over to them. Now with this small business with my friend, she will get the 25% since I am the one who is financing it I will get about 75%. Geez, I forgot to post those names, let me just do it in a hurry. Mommy Moments : White

Sigh, I am so late posting this Meme, I was too busy this past two days. JM is back on training that's why. Anyway, here's my entry for:

From 49 to 46

When I went to my Pulmonologist today, I was so happy and surprised after I weight myself in their weighing scale. I lose 3 pounds and I didn't even know that! I applauded myself secretly for my losing weight success. If I would always watch after my meals intake probably I will be more successful. Three pounds are not that much compared to my weight before, I only weigh 35 and if I would gain some weights, it would only increased like three pounds. Now, I have a hard time of decreasing it, I know I need more motivation and more exercise. More coffee please, huh? [hehehe]

Know what you put in your body

There are many dietary supplements out there, some are just vitamins, some are for losing weight and others are meant to help you build muscle or affect other parts of the body. Before taking any supplement it’s important to know what the supplement does and possible risks. HGH (Human Growth Hormone) supplements are often given to treat certain conditions or aid in the recovery from and injury. Before I take any new supplement, I always want to seek the advice of my physician. Especially when taking a supplement like hgh. I want to know how it will affect me and which would be the best for me to take. You should always know what you put in your body.

Earthquake

That was December 16, 1990, past 2:00 a.m., when we were, all so sudden, shaking so hard in our bed. I was totally disrupted, my sister shouted "Earthquake! Earthquake" I thought a fire was flared up in our neighbor but no we were shaking, actually shaking! My other sister tried so hard to hold our closet so it will not collapsed in our bed where I was lying down. I suddenly sat down, trying to look around but I could see nothing, it was not only an earthquake but I became blind? I could not see anything but dark that was when I realized there's a total black out everywhere. My sister screamed and asked my help. We could not run towards our door because we are holding our big cabinet! After a while, it calmed. But we stayed there beside our closet, scared, and unfocused. That was so strong, really strong, I never though I could experience it but I did. Now, I am not sure if I could handle such a strong quake like that again. But with my kids, I guess I have to be strong for them otherwise there is no way we can survive.

The same year, July 16 1990, Manila experienced a 7.8 magnitude earthquake. And one prominent hotel collapsed, the Hyatt Terraces Hotel. It has been said that many of the hotel employees and guests were buried alive.

To Maximize My Energy

Last Sunday, my daughter and I have done a thorough general cleaning. Certainly, that made me so tired, I feel like I was just finished my work out and needs some pre-work out supplement for me to get on since we still have so many things we have to do on that day. I even wonder, does force factor work? Because I thought I really need it so I can maximize my energy and that I could still bring my kids to the mall after church. F is always hyperactive and if I won't take any supplements, she probably makes me so drain. Well, after the general cleaning, I just choose to lie down and took my nap for 2 hours. My kids were at the living room watching their favorite program in Disney channel, my eldest daughter; Jm forgot to wake me up. Too bad we were not able to catch the mass in the afternoon so we decided to just stay home.

Exercising as its Best

I was waiting for my friend to arrive at the mall, when I saw these people in the entertainment area doing their Tae Boo exercise. I remember I was also doing this exercise before when I still go to the gym but not now on the other hand I guess I will be back there since I don't do much belly dancing anymore, how I wish to do it again but I am just too lazy plus the venue is too far from our place. I should ride 3x two times to get there unlike the gym that I went to before it was only like 2 rides away. But I must admit I really missed belly dancing.

The Fastest and Easiest Way

Take note that in today's generation, online shopping is the fastest and easiest way to find the things that we are looking for, sometimes it could be cheaper than of those in the mall. My daughter is into playing games now since it is summer vacation; she wanted to have a new gadget. But let’s see when my husband arrived from Florida. I might ask him to look for it online. For the meantime, Jm and F should be contented with watching TV or playing together. She must also answer the worksheets that the KUMON provided for her. Well, if our budget is stable, I would probably bring them to the beach for them to enjoy their summer vacation.

We Will Be Missing You, Pap!

My husband arrived safely in Florida; yes he went back there to attend his Father’s funeral. It was only two days ago when he blurted me the news and he already in Maryland at that time, I could not believe it at first, we hoped he can recover but I guess when God says, it’s time, nobody can stop it.

To my FIL, even we never met, I know you are a good man and a good father to all your kids because if its not, my husband will never be too kind, too humble and god-fearing. Yes, my kids will never meet you but I will tell them about you through my husband, how you lived and how you were brave enough to become the Navy Veteran during World War II. You had a good long journey as the first Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Wesley Chapel and become the ministry at several churches until you retired in 2001. You worked hard for your kids and serve the people well, now its time to rest and return to the one who created us. Farewell dad, we will be missing you.

Best Investment

When I was looking for a bank to put my money for savings, one bank offered me a time deposit. It is a money deposit in the bank in which you can’t withdraw until the certain term. The bank said it is good if you are receiving dollars and the safest and the best investment. Oh well, I don’t have that huge amount of dollars at that time and I thought the best investment would be to buy gold and sell it. You can earn like triple of your capital if you happen to be a miner, yeah it is too hard to own gold before but not now, because you can actually buy gold online. If we only have enough money I would really suggest my husband for gold investment, well who knows right? Maybe not now but perhaps in the future and we can be rich. Anyway since we can't afford the time deposit and gold investment as of now, I just told the in-charge of the bank to tell me the procedure for savings account deposit. He was disappointed at first but he directed me to the New Account Information.

Stuff Toys Counter

Right after I send Jm to her Kumon yesterday, I went to the mall quickly for her cell phone. We could not text or call even she has some credits on her phone, just to found out that she change the setting to fixed dialing. The in-charge patiently explained the settings and changes it.

I roamed around the mall and bought a pair of shoes for myself, it has been a while since I shop for shoes and since my old one retired already I guess it was time for me to buy one.

When Jm finished her worksheet at Kumon, we went to the mall to see the owner of the carpool. We paid her for last month and half for this month. After a while we roamed around the furniture’s department to see if there are some cabinets I may like. The stuff toys are everywhere in the living room and that maybe the causes of my asthma attack recently.

I definitely like one and purchased it right there and then but sigh they would deliver it to our house later this month. Oh well I didn't have any choice but to wait for the delivery time.

My 3 years old daughter is into starfall.com. So if she sees me on the other computer doing my rounds in blog land. She also would ask me to get the other computer so she can do the ABC in starfall.com.

My eldest daughter Jm hurriedly took my camera so she could take a picture of us doing each other's business. LOL

I Hope There's Really Nothing Wrong

I sent Jm to Kumon yesterday, while waiting for her to finish, I grabbed my book that I bought last week. It is about Like Mother, Like Daughter thing. The book contains 14 stories of a Mother-daughter relationship. I thought the book would teach the Mothers how to handle kids for today's generation or at least the story of Mom handling those kids. But it is the other way around; it was about kids, trying to understand their Mom.

Anyway, right after Kumon, I met my friend at the mall to talk about things and that suggestion she would like to do with my daughter. It is an offer that Jm might like but let's see.

We went grocery shopping afterwards, but when we almost finish shopping my asthma and cough attacked me so hard. We were still in the cab and so antsy to get home fast so I could take my air puff, anti-allergy and Montelukast. After the disastrous, well almost, travel from the mall to the house. I hurriedly take all those necessary medicines and rest for a while. I recovered fast but I think I need to go to my Doctor for a thorough check up on Monday.

I hope there's really nothing wrong with me.

We visited Jm one day at her school during their PE at South Pacific; their PE is to learn how to swim since she knows how to swim and was under training, she always got the highest score in PE.

Nostalgia : Girl and Mommy

I used to call my friends by names but ever since I was hired at a call center here, they were calling each other "Girl" so as I am always forgetting names, I thought it was cool to just call them "Girl" whatever their name is, I was not obliged to memorize all the names of my team mates or workmates. And since all of the agents before were girls thus it was not really hard for me to address them all "Girl".

Recently, I feel like an alien when one from the pool called me "Mommy" alright since we were all mom out there who were always as supportive to their kids. I became comfortable with them calling me "Mommy" and so was I.

And now, I caught between the two, because there are times I addressed some of my friend "Mommy" even though they are single.

I guess I have to go back to call them by their names, what do you think? Uggghh I have to memorize all their names and or shorten the name to their nicknames, waaahhh!

On the other note, you may wonder what's the origin of calling you blogpals "girl" that was because of that call center company. Isn't it cool?

Was So Busy Yesterday

I was too busy yesterday, my two friends were here and we had so much fun! I forgot my task online for the meantime but I did not regret it. We supposed to go out to join the festival in downtown but we just can't since sister Merlyn was not here. Well, it was not a total disappointment since we enjoyed our little gathering inside the house.

I Spend Too Much in the Bookshop GRRR!

If you go to a boutique or shop and you are looking for something, you would asked the sales assistance if where you could find that certain item you would like to buy. Do you expect them to tell you, you should find the item in your own?

That was what happen to me a while ago at the book shop in one of the mall here. I was told to locate the book I was looking for, they didn't know where it was displayed and they didn't have any list of the books that were delivered to them on their computer. I was like what??? I mean, my gosh how could I find the book I was looking for, with a bunch of books displayed in their shelves. Their books were never even organized, I was like in the middle of the jungle, like you could find the author in the other corner and you could find the same author in the other side of the corner. They don't even put a label if that section is for fiction, true story, or tips and advised, and some sort of. To my disappointment, since I could not find that book, I bought three books from that shop. And it cost me P300.00 pesos, while if I just found that book, I could have only spend P150.00. Grrr!

Mommy and Me : After Church

Yesterday, after church, I and my kids decided to just dine outside. When my sister is not here to cook for us, it would be easy for the three of us to go out and fill our tummy with some delicious food at the restaurant. I am still awake, my kids are already sleeping. I am here meditating and praying for everyone's safety. I have read about the Yellowstone Park and I am not sure if I could still bear to read the facts that were written there. I just hope it will stay calm despite of the devastating earthquake that happens in Japan.

My husband also sent me about Tunguska explosion in Russia. I am feared about the kids although here in the Philippines we did not experience yet a powerful tsunami or explosion because of meteoroid or comet and I hope GOD will spare us from that because I believe we could not cope up with it. Keep the faith and pray hard, that's all we could just do.

Tonight, just when the kids were about to sleep, the three of us intently whispered a prayer for the whole world, for our friend Alex, for our safety here at home. Jm also asked for forgiveness and F was still doing her night routine before bedtime and that is to do upside down, although when I said we should pray, she stopped for a moment and joined us. I know HE would hear it, I know He would listen.

Saturday 9: St. Patrick's Day

It was so devastating to know the tsunami and earthquake that hits in Japan, my sincere condolences to those who lost their family.

Mommy Moments : Green

Today's theme for Mommy Moments is Green. And so I searched how green could affect our life and the meaning of it. Here's what I found here:

It says, Green is the color of nature, which is oh so true! Fertility and life and life as well. Grass green is the most restful color. Green symbolizes self-respect and well being. Nostalgia : Gatherings

When was the last time I drank some alcohol, I guess the last time was 8 years ago. That was the last one because I was really drunk, when I get drunk I would first laugh so hard, then I would sing and could sing any songs and I would cry so hard. From then on, I didn’t try to get drink and drunk at all. But my friend Cheryl went here on Tuesday, since I bought some new tapes, we watched it, while we drank the wine she bought. I admit I missed not the alcohol but the moment I am with a friend.

In Getting The Student Permit

Due to lack of sleep I can't help but to take a nap in the morning, although I need to go out early in the morning to get a student permit. I suddenly message my friend if we postponed it in the afternoon, she immediately agreed but I woke up almost 1:00 p.m., already so I messaged her again that I could not do it today and asked her if she was already in the office, to my surprised she was not there yet and that she was still in their Internet Shop, she also wanted to postponed of getting the Student permit probably on Friday. I hope we can do it this time so I can have my student permit and that we are free to enroll ourselves in driving lessons. Wish us all the stars in heaven. LOL

P.S. Can you imagine that until now I am still sleepy, sigh!

Wearing Her Smile Again

Yesterday, Jm was absent to her school because she needs to go to the dentist. She had a chipped tooth for a while now and she is embarrassed with her tooth, she can't even give her full smile to all of them.

Thus, we went there yesterday and thank GOD the dentist is there. Although her secretary has to file a leave of absence because of her dysmenorhhia, she still entertained us. She was so busy because, there are two of us waiting for our turn and there's the phone that keeps on ringing that she needs to stop and answer them.

Jm was not that scared because she enjoyed the cartoon movie she watched, while the Doctor was poking her teeth.

And since there's a parlor nearby, I took the chance for a thorough cleaning of my nails. I did not let them touch my hair at all.

My daughter is so excited this morning when she went to school because she said she can wear her smile and she doesn't have to it anymore.

Tried To Update Last Night

It has been weeks that I did not take any anti-allergy tablets. And last night was the worst because it made me feel groggy anymore and sleepy. I sent F to our bed and hoping I could still get back to our computer but I woke up around 12 a.m., and I am still sneezing. Thank GOD I still have 2 ceterizine's left in my container I took one and I regained my strength thus I could update here yet my eyes would really closed, well, what can you expect for Anti-allergy right, so for me not to prolong my agony I just went to bed and closed my eyes.

Offer Me Some Bags, Please?

Recently, I was always lurking in my FB due to some reasons, I post my shout out there every now and then suddenlyI am running errands here, I always post my update so late. Well, I better go back to where I belong and that's lurking here than there.

One of my shout out was why they don't give me a bag?

Does it sound familiar of what bag is that?

Sigh, they keep on ignoring me, and when I saw some bags, it was already taken.

I hope they would offer me some bags this time.

I always laugh around, I'm cool for everything around me , and sometimes funny so never they would suspect me that I could also raise my voice and argue.

My youngest daughter, she arranged our pillow just tonight, she asked me to take a picture of it and her and she instantly said "Cheese" LOL

I was just a kid then that I wanted to play a small guitar at school but since I don't have an instrument I just told our teacher I can't join for a musical contest. Sigh!

Mommy Moments : Orange

This was taken at my sister's place, that boy over there is the boy that my youngest daughter tried to befriended to. But the boy was so shy, yet my daughter did not stop there, she gave him a hand, she pushed the kid's bike for a start and so they became friends.

I never thought I could do that again, sometimes when I get mad at over something or to someone else, I would not know myself at all.

It has been a while that I choose to be quiet, they won’t hear me anything instead they would hear my laugh at the whole area. I think the last confrontation I had, I mean face to face with a person was when I made a complaint of a certain airline. I was really pissed off and tried my hardest to point out what I want them to do for me, and I was not just talking when they denied my request of refund for the ticket I bought for them. I yelled at the supervisor, I wasn’t able to control myself and I feel like my blood was boiling up and was ready to explode. You know that feeling? That, hey I pay you and I deserve a good service and this what I got? Where are those friendly advertisements that your company would serve me well? Anyway, in fairness with that airline, they gave me a refund, even though it was only half of the payment I gave them.

Now, that part of me was challenged again. The Gabriela Silang in me just took over my whole being and I just can’t control it anymore.

On the other hand, before I go further, let me ask you this question, what will you react when someone treated you as if that person had the total control over you, as if you owe him/her that much and he/she have the right to be rude to you.

Now, was I wrong to yell back at him/her and to point out what I want, I mean come on if you just approached me in a diplomatic way and not the way as if I am your helper. We might had corrected the issue besides we pay you enough of your service, I guess we have the right to claim your respect.

I cannot just let you imposed such things that I believe was wrong. Many had given their sentiments but never had they confronted you of it, they choose to hide so you better check them.

Chipped Tooth

Jm just got a chipped front tooth. She was worried this morning, she said she just drank water and when she feel her tooth, it was rough already and so she went to check it in front of the mirror and there it was, confirmed, it was chipped.

This was the same tooth that we had repaired by the dentist two years ago when she encountered an incident from school. She was bumped to the floor and hit her two front teeth. I know it should be covered by the school insurance yet until now they haven't done anything with it; I gave up going there to asked for a refund. Well, what do you expect? One parent also complaint about them too when his son was pushed by his classmate, and his forehead was hit in the railings, she also went to the clinic for the insurance and or refund, they said they would refund her and she will just send them the receipts, she did but until now and until she gave up, they didn't refund her.

On the other hand, I have told my daughter not to worry because on Saturday we will have it checked by her dentist again.

Time flies so fast, and I am so excited because my daughter's class will end soon that means summer is just around the corner. Well, I hope it won't rain that much this summer, I hope the sun will rise most of the time and so we can hit the beach and have some fun.
