Birthday and a Thank You Message

A week from now, Faith would be celebrating her 3rd birthday. I am not quiet sure yet what to do but today I will have to hop some restaurants here that accommodates birthday party and such. Jollibee is my first option but I have to inquire how much does it cost, or the Garden Oases perhaps. I may need to compare between the two.

On the other note, I just have to thank the one who comment to one of my posts. Don’t worry I was not offended and I know I have so many things to learn yet about words and some stuff. Yes, I admit I was upset but not mad; maybe I am upset because I did not check the usage of the word, not to you but myself. But please understand I am just a blogger who, most of the times failed with some words. I tried to trace your blog but it is empty, I just want to say thank you!

Hitting The Bed Early

I am so sleepy, I had been depriving to sleep this past few days because my kids were sick and last night when I had the chance to sleep early, I still did not went to bed as early as possible because I had so much fun talking to my friend Genny.

Now I feel like, my head will just bang down in the keyboard in no time. My kids are still up; they are still watching Mr. Bean, their favorite show as always. I always wonder why they love watching that, while he was not really talking properly at all.

On the other hand folks, thank you all for dropping by, I would comment back tomorrow yet. I have to seriously hit the bed early this time so I will have enough energy tomorrow. Goodnight everyone!

Mommy Moments : New Family Photo

mommy moments

We don't have any latest family picture since my husband was not able to make it here last year. We are both so antsy of being together but due to some unavoidable circumstances he was not able to visit us here. Well, I will just show you our family picture after the wedding instead.

My husband is also sending me some of his pictures, from his recent travels and or the activity that they had last year. But I will be showing you one, you know he is a private person yet because I am just a proud wife here, I can't help to post some of our pictures and show it to the world.

And of course below is our recent picture from the New Year.

Gifts For Him

When I asked my husband what he bought at Walmart, he told me a new wallet. I was devastated I never thought he needs a new one, which could have been my Christmas gift for him since I haven’t done anything special for him last Christmas. He told me though that it is never too late to give him some gifts, so since February is fast approaching I might be buying something as my valentine's day gifts for him, I thought of a new shirt, belt and a new wallet so he will have a replacement ready in case the other one will be damaged. Actually I have so many things to send him in the next few months, just like the edited and the unedited wedding videos, he haven’t seen those yet so I must send him a copy for that. I already talked to the in-charge of the studio where we had our package back then during our wedding and she said I just have to pay the labor charges then in a day or two; I can get the DVD ready. I hope my husband will have a fun time watching our wedding videos from the church to the reception during our special day.

Nostalgia #30: Happy Birthday Mj!

Photobucket

Today marks the birthday of my eldest, even though I don't have much time yet I still managed to think what we would do for her birthday. I did not tell her though and she was having really doubts she could still celebrate it with her classmates because it has been days that my youngest daughter is sick and I don't have sleep at all ever since her fever began.

She was so happy to see me this morning, I had with me the biggest pizza ever that I blog about last month. I bought 2 super extra sizes for her classmates and teachers and another family size at home. It was their periodical test today so they were dismissed early at lunch, although they have to stay in their classroom for a while to wait for their carpool, good thing we arrived just on time.

Mj was the one who distributed the juice and the pizza for her classmates, she volunteered to me so I could take some pictures of them. It is sometimes amazing how fast she had grown, that only means I am not getting any younger. She did not eat anything, she just distributed the pizza to her classmates unlike the previous birthdays she had, she opted to just sit down in her chair and just wait for me to entertain her classmates. Now, she's doing it on her own.

Aside from the greetings, she also received gifts from her classmates. How thoughtful and sweet of them.

UTI

The moment we knew that Faith has UTI, my husband searched about Urinary Track Infection and here was what he found.

Normally urine travels this path without a hitch, but if bacteria get in the urine — from the skin around the genitals or rectum or via the bloodstream — they can create infection and inflammation at any point along the way. About 8 percent of girls and 2 percent of boys will have at least one urinary tract infection (UTI) during childhood.

For many children, an unexplained fever is the only symptom. About 5 percent of babies and toddlers who have a fever without other symptoms have a UTI.

  • Crying or another indication that urination is painful
  • Odd-smelling urine.
  • Cloudy or bloody urine
  • Unexplained, persistent irritability
  • Vomiting
  • Refusal to eat
  • Abdominal, side, or back pain
  • Fatigue
  • Chills
I am hoping that Faith would be heal as soon as possible, I already had no sleep for how many days already because I keep on monitoring her fever.

It has been four days already

My baby still had a fever, we already have taken her to her Pediatrician and he asked us to have a laboratory test for platelet and urine because he could not see any phlegm for Faith to get a high fever. We were there the whole day, waiting for her result I was then relieved that it was not the Dengue that I always scared of, but we still need to attain Faith's infection. The Doctor recommended us an anti-bacterial for her UTI. I was hoping she would be heal that night, sadly her fever is still on and off and it has been four days already.

My Little One Got A Fever

Next to Mj, now my youngest daughter is sick.

When I went to sleep late yesterday, I noticed her being uncomfortable over something, when I touched her; she was already then so hot. Good thing, I still have a little Tempra Paracetamol left, I immediately let her took 5 ml of Tempra, and then I gave her cold compress on her forehead. I wasn't able to sleep because I was monitoring her temperature and I have to keep her warm.

This morning, she feels a little better, but in the afternoon, her temperature rose again. Then it went down at 5:00 p.m., but it rose again tonight. We suspected she got this from her sister when she got sick last week.

Tomorrow, we decided to send her to her Pediatrician. I hope she will be okay then after she would be given the right medicine.

And I will just have to say

I thought I can write a long post here but due to some circumstances basis, I will just have to say:

Mommy Moments : New Achievements

mommy moments

I just blogged this in my other site that Faith already knew how to navigate the mouse now I didn’t expect she also know how to dragged the objects from the star.fall.com, she even learned how to put those letters on its own place when the computer would ask her to. For me it’s a big achievement for her so will be ready when we enrolled her to nursery or kindergarten.

On the other hand, Mj’s speed with regards to her training has a lot of improvements especially on her backstroke, if her backstroke before was like a zigzag now she’s swimming straight ahead until she reaches the other edged. It is just so sad that she has to rest for a moment for her sinusitis. She is already asking about when she could swim again. And I must say soon when her sinusitis is over.

If I was always complaining about her grades in Science and Civics before, well not now anymore because she already had a high grades on the said subjects. I am not yet pressuring her to study as of the moment yet since she just recovered from having a high fever this week.

Nostalgia # 29: Wedding Gifts

Photobucket

Below are one of my pictures during opening of gifts after my wedding on 2009, it was so unplanned though. Actually, only I and Mj were so excited to open the gifts and when my husband noticed we were already opening and we’re taking pictures, he immediately sat down where the gifts were placed and made a pose after we opened the gifts.

I so miss my husband, last year was not our year, hopefully this year, we will be lucky and that there’s no emergency he needs to attain along the way.

I suddenly felt so lonely

I finally went out today, unfortunately I was not able to pay my Insurance contributions because I forgot to include my eldest daughter's tuition fee at school, and I have to pay that tomorrow. I went to the mall to buy a new umbrella since the old one was already damaged. I went to the bank then at the clinic to ask for Mj's medical certificate, her school asked one so they could excuse her for the quizzes they had when Mj was absent.

I walked alone and suddenly...

I felt so lonely.

I missed my buddies, my friends from the call floor, my friends who were always available for me whenever I need someone to talk to. We would simply just message each other to see at the mall then we immediately had a long talk.

They are right; we only missed the person and the importance of her presence when she is no longer available for you, when that person is already too far away to meet you.

After One Week Rest

I have mentioned before that my Digicam was damaged and did not functioned at all when my eldest dropped it in the pool at the Pearl Farm. I attempt to used it after the incident but the monitor just went black and could not capture any image at all.

I was already hopeless if I could still repair so I let it rest for one week and did not even try to touch it. After a week as I was looking for some pictures to submit for one Meme, I took my Digicam out in the drawer and pressed the power button, to my surprise the image was clear and could capture an image anymore, there was even no marks of moist when I tried it, the pictures below were one of my trial and error whether it would function well.

But not definitely a blue hair

First off, Mj wanted to color her hair, pink and I said no, few months past she suggested a blue would be perfect. I laugh at her; I pictured her having a blue hair. Her teacher probably would send her to the guidance office if ever I would let her have that color, blue diamonds might probably be accepted but not definitely a blue hair.

Most often than not, I only have seen white diamonds, they are colored and glitters perfectly in white. I wonder how blue diamond looked like. My husband gave me a diamond ring few years back as our engagement ring and for me it is just so perfect. Oh well who knows, blue diamond could also be perfect for engagement, what do you think?

Chicken Soup is the Best Remedy

I thought Mj would be alright yesterday but her fever went back. I was already so worried, I was monitoring her temperature every now and then because her fever was a bit so high already. And her headache is getting worst as well, my husband suggested she might want a Chicken Soup, I thought he was referring a book but nope it was not. He was referring a real soup, he sent me a link for it that somehow experts proved it that the Chicken soup indeed would be a big help for those who is sick.

This was the content I found from the link:

Another theory, put forth by Stephen Rennard, M.D., chief of pulmonary medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, is that chicken soup acts as an anti-inflammatory. The soup, he says, keeps a check on inflammatory white blood cells (neutrophils). Cold symptoms, such as coughs and congestion, are often caused by inflammation produced when neutrophils migrate to the bronchial tubes and accumulate there.
In his lab, Rennard tested chicken soup made from the recipe of his wife's Lithuanian grandmother. He demonstrated that neutrophils showed less tendency to congregate - but were no less able to fight germs - after he added samples of the soup to the neutrophils. Diluted 200 times, the soup still showed that effect.

Rennard based his chicken soup research on a family recipe, which he referred to in his article as Grandma's Soup.

I thought it was only a tale that it could make the sick gets better. But here’s the study of an expert that somehow it could help for us to get better from flu or fever. If you want to understand more just click this link.

Fare Increased, Blue Taxi, and that Decease

I and my eldest always ride a taxi cab every after school going to the training venue, back and forth. Most of the time, their training will be finish at 8:30 p.m., onwards so most likely we should be riding a cab to make it home that fasts so she can still do her worksheets and review her lessons.

Now, that the taxi cab will be having the increased of fare this month, instead of P 36.00 as their minimum rate it would increase to P40.00 and every 300 meters, the succeeding rate will be P2.50 to P3.50. I think we have to subside on riding taxi cabs, but unfortunately we can't do that when we go home at night. We don't have any other possible options right now, unless my husband would buy us a car so to cut the expenses off but I will have to learn how to drive first.

Anyway, I just learned this from my friend that a blue taxi with a body number something 4 delivered a patient last night in a hospital that has a meningococcemia decease, And that we must not ride with this taxi as the decease is contagious. It said that the health authorities are trying to look after the driver so he could undergo quarantine to stop spreading this decease. So if you are within the city, read the body number and the name of the taxi before you will take the ride.

I just found this article regarding with Meningoccocemia, the symptoms and signs:

The most obvious signs are a very high fever accompanied by a severe headache, and stiffness in the neck area and other joints. The disease moves quickly so should be diagnosed quickly and treated with antibiotics. It is said to be similar to meningitis but differs from it in that it is a blood borne disease, that can take hold and lead to death within 24 to 48 hours if not treated. The spinal cord is affected.

It has also been called bacterial Meningitis and can cause gangrene and limb loss in some cases.
The disease occurs at particular times in the year and is spread by hand contact saliva, and from other contact with the bacteria.Often in universities and schools.
In some cases it can involve unconsciousness.

You should be tested as soon as possible by a doctor, as the symptoms are similar to meningitis but the disease progresses quickly.

Some Various Options

I try to be health conscious and I am trying to lose weight. Both my husband and I could stand to lose a few pounds. Well he says chasing Faith around is good exercise, but it is not helping us to lose weight. Besides I am the one carrying her and chasing her. I have thought about diet pills and have looked at phentermine reviews to see what that is all about. Well I am curious and like to learn about the various options to help me lose weight and reading about them is certainly one way to find out if a product may be the one for you.

Mommy Moments : New Stuff

mommy moments

When its Christmas, my husband would always see to it that I have enough funds to buy some gifts for the kids. One thing I have thought to buy for my eldest is a cell phone inasmuch as she needs it; it would also be easy for us to communicate in case of emergency. My youngest has a live doll; it would cry, laugh and pee! My youngest always exclaimed Mom she peed or Mom she cried!

This is the cell phone she is using now,
I always told her to take good care of it
and she is doing the perfect job.

Faith's Live Doll

Aside from the gifts they received on Christmas from us, they also received gifts from their Aunt, whom they called Mommy Irenie. Mommy Irenie gave Faith a nice dress; her Ninang gave her a very sexy and flawless Barbie doll with number of dresses. Faith sometimes dressed her up with mini skirt, gown or jeans. Mj got something from Mommy Irenie too and that was a pink walky talkie.

Now, her dress and she is flaunting it. LOL

Maintaining Her Weight

If you were here very often, some of you know that I had my friend, stayed overnight here at home. She had a one year old son now, but I wonder how she still maintained her weight, yeah she is not gaining weight at all. She might gain extra pounds but not that much! And I am so envious how she did that, she doesn’t have to undergo tight diet. Unlike me, and maybe some of you, I am not sure if she is taking diet pills or just taking the best weight loss drinks, I will ask when she gets back on Sunday. What about you? Do you prefer the slimming drinks or the pills instead? What do you suggest the first one or the latter one?

Nostalgia # 29: Friends Until Forever

Photobucket

My friends were just here last here, Mabel and Cheryl stayed here overnight. And as usual I was not able to sleep early last night and yet I have to wake up early this morning to prepare my eldest for school. We drank some wine then we had long chitchats, while we watched a movie. Good thing the kids were fast asleep already so Mom had a good time. Anyway, we were not able to take pictures last night as we already had our pajamas, we supposed to sleep early at night but oh well how we could sleep at that, when we are still enjoying our wine.

Anyway, let me show you a picture of us some years ago.

But it has to be soon

It is so hot in here and I am sweating so much, I think the weather would help me to burn some fats. And I do not need anymore to find weight loss supplements for me to tone down that is, if the weather would always be like this. Well, anyway I just have to be optimistic about it that in due time I will get back in shape once more. I don't know when but it has to be soon.

Have you ever had a “friend” that you discovered was really an enemy?

What's the most exciting thing that you've ever done?

Maybe, finding my one true love over the net and I found him, he is my husband now.

Do you mind a friend who asks for favors?

Depends of what favor they are asking

10. "The worst crime is faking it."
Do you ever “fake it” for approval?

Nope

Full Sound Quality

As entertainment costs increase, my family and I spend more and more time at home. We have a nice television and we use it for more than just the shows there. We enjoy singing and watching movies, both television and with our DVD player. One thing that we want to improve is the sound quality of the programs we watch. A good set of home speakers will increase our enjoyment of the programs we want by giving us full sound quality. Who knows what we have been missing. A high quality home speaker system can make us think that we were at the movies or in a concert.

Overnight Stay

I am so sleepy again this time, nope I did not take my anti-histamine last night. But my friend Mabel was here and we had chitchats non-stop. It has been like a year already since we didn’t see each other and since she applied for work in a call center company here in our place and fortunately she got accepted. She stayed here overnight so she doesn’t have to go back to their house at the province and that she could gather all her requirements at once. Plus, her final interview finished at 10:00 p.m., already and in such time, there’s no bus going to their province at all.

I am sleepy but that’s all worth it because I was able to talk to a friend, whom I haven’t seen for a while, not to mention that she was among of those friends who keeps their communication open and would visit me if the time will give them the chance. To my friend Mabel thanks for the time, don’t you worry; everything will be alright to you and your baby.

All About Our Weekend

I sometimes don’t know how to control my daughter from walking back and forth in the mall or even at church. She wants to do all the things like climbing up the grills at the church, giggling so loud with other kids and or running around. Yesterday, as I could not take it anymore, I hold her tight in my arms, I know she wanted to let go off me but I could not let just let her go. First and foremost she has to learn to behave and to be quiet at church, with no running around at all. So I was kind a successful in that, although she squirmed so hard, I was still able to hold her tight. Even though I have to struggle later for so much pain in my back and in my arms, those I could take it than lost her because I let her go.

At the mall, I decided to free her, and there she was again, running around as if she has been freed from a cage. I let her but I still have my eyes on her, good thing that the mall was not that crowded unlike last month. Well, what can you expect for holidays, of course you could see bunch of people rushing inside the mall to have shopping spree, right?

Anyway, when I pay our stuff at the counter, I asked my eldest to watch after Faith so I could pay the things we bought and that we could go before Faith would really go crazy running around. Mj have her settle sometimes but most of the time she would call me to help her with Faith. I am not complaining though but sometimes I can’t help to ask when she would settle and behaved well when we are out in the public. But even so, I love her with all my heart and never would I trade her for anything in the world.

Snow Video on 2011

My husband emailed me this snow video this morning, Inasmuch he knows that we love watching snow, he videotaped when they had it this morning his time. Mj wished she could experience it too, while Faith keeps on giggling. I just hope it would be not too much otherwise my husband will be stuck in his home and will not be able to work.

Planning To Get My Masters

My husband and I are planning to have me enroll in an online school, it has been awhile that I am planning to get my masters but since my husband suggested it would be better if I would take it when we are together, so I am waiting for the day when he arrives. I think I will be getting education as my masters. I am a commerce graduate but with my age now, teaching degrees would be perfect for me. My husband finished his masters already way back, he got his teaching degrees in one of the university in the states and he is good in it. He could be a teacher if he wants but he chooses to be a computer geek as of now. Who knows maybe someday he would be a teacher as well too, I am sure he can do it, with his passion of teaching; certainly he would succeed in that career.

Saving Money on my Electric Bill

It gets really hot in the summer and the high cost of electricity makes running an air conditioner 24 hours a day is quite expensive. I have been looking for ways to reduce energy costs and save a bit of money. One way to help cool my home is to increase air flow by using fans.

I have a very active and inquisitive toddler. She wants to know and get into everything. Floor fans become as much of a thing for her to investigate as a way to cool the house and I don’t think they offer quite the same ability to increase air flow as a ceiling fans.

Faith may be able to look at a ceiling fan and wonder what it is doing, but she certainly can’t try to unplug it, stick her fingers in it or otherwise hurt herself. Plus, as I mentioned before a ceiling fan requires much less energy and will let me save money on my electric bill.

Nostalgia # 28: Sleeping on my Tummy

Photobucket

My two kids love to lay down their head in my tummy, they would make it as their pillow but since Faith is the youngest her sister has to give way. But before Mj always loves to get up at night so she could lay her head down on my tummy. Mj would always exclaim it feels like foam. Faith does the same as her Ate was used to.

The picture below was Faith sleeping so comfy on my chest; this always brings the memory when she was just 4 months old yet. Time indeed flies rapidly fast.

Wednesday Wickedness # 28: Homer Simpson

Thank goodness that our washing machine was repaired yesterday. Our laundry was piled up already and I don't have to wear at all if I would go out to fetch my daughter at school. I only have one slacks and that's it. Anyway, yes it is functioning not that well because we still need to send it back to the shop because of the timer. We have to hold it a bit for it to turn around, and it is indeed time consuming, so maybe this week we would work that out.

On the other note, here's my entry for:

1. “Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals ... except the weasel.”
What w
as the last thing that you weaseled out of?

I am not sure at all

My Aunt who died two years ago, I thought I saw her so I stopped and later did I know it was not her.

Maybe

The birthday of my two kids are fast approaching, so the plans of going to Cebu would be set aside plus one friend invited me in Bohol on summer and there's a competition we will be joining hopefully on the last week of May. I really wanted to go to Cebu but I guess the chance won't permit me plus the fare was so expensive, you could really say ouch. Well, anyway, I and my kids already had a blast in Pearl Farm so I guess that was enough maybe we will be going out of town on summer yet.

Our Fireworks Experience

My kids never get to experienced fireworks, after we rested for a while in our room from our sumptuous meal at Fuego an island fronting the Pearl farm, I gather the kids at 11:00 p.m., so we could see the firework displays, we requested the front desk for a speed boat going there. We waited for a moment, while munching some cakes I took from the buffet table, everyone was so noisy already. The band sang danceable music, in which Faith danced so gaily while Mj was just sitting on her seat, watching all the people dancing with the music.

After a moment or two, we started the countdown and there it was the fireworks trying to reach the sky. It was so colorful, Faith was so stunned but Mj was trying to hide, she was scared of it at first, she said it seems like it would go down and hit her in the head.

Everybody greets “Happy New Year”

It was a blast; it was the most unforgettable New Year I ever celebrated. Even though we were only the three of us there, still we enjoyed it the most.

Just click the link for the firework displays.
